The cost for the delivery of the course is 24,250 (Subject to elective choice)

Once a student is accepted there is an upfront materials fee of $850. ACAAS students are then invoiced the remaining fees monthly as part of their payment plan. Payments commence 1 month after the course has commenced.

Payment includes:

• Full tuition as part of a small group (maximum 15 students per intake) in a veterinary hospital – with individual support
• A supportive mentoring system for the period of your training
• Regular progression interviews
• Networking opportunities within the industry
• Work placement provided within the Veterinary Nursing industry
• Full hands-on experience in a variety of situations.

The benefit of doing your Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with ACAAS is that we arrange a mentoring timetable for you to be able to work directly with a mentor down in the veterinary clinic. The hours you spend on your mentoring shifts counts towards the hours requirement to complete your qualification.

ACAAS also arrange work placement at various general and specialist practices. This enables you to gain a wide range of experience working in different clinics.

Many of our previous students have gained employment in general practice after completing their practical placement.

You attend a theory class one day a week at the College for approximately 18 months. In addition to this you will attend the College a minimum of once a week for your mentoring shifts. This will decrease over time due to work placement(s) and/or employment as a nurse in training.

• TWO years course (4 semesters of study). First 3 semesters is once a week, full day, theory classes and practical sessions in veterinary hospital.  Last semester has no class time so students can catch up on any outstanding written assessments and/or catch up on practical tasks and skills.
• The first 3 weeks of the course requires 3 days per week attendance as it is an “intensive” introduction to becoming a Veterinary Nurse. The intensive theory component provides an understanding of whether the student wants to and/or has the ability to commit to the study required to become and work as a Veterinary Nurse.

If all requirements are met to complete the course, then you will be graduating in the December – 2 years after you commenced training.

ACAAS currently has a 100% success rate of students gaining employment in the Animal Care industry upon completion of their studies. A majority of our students have gained  employment after participating in work placement at various clinics within the first year of training.
