You will be enrolled in the Certificate III in Animal Care Services for a duration of 1 year. This program combines both theoretical and practical learning to prepare you for a rewarding career in animal care.

Weekly Schedule:

  • One 8-hour session per week (typically on Fridays) including both classroom instruction and hands-on practical training
  • One 4-hour evening session per week dedicated to facilitated online learning

Small Class Sizes: Our intimate class sizes ensure a personalised, flexible, and   tailored learning experience that supports your individual goals and learning style.

Note: Weekly sessions may be structured as either two 4-hour evening sessions or one full 8-hour day session, depending on scheduling needs.

You will be trained by highly qualified Veterinary Nurses with decades of experience in the animal care industry.

ACAAS’s training centre is located inside a 1 acre building above WoofPurNay Veterinary Hospital and South Eastern Equine Hospital which sits on 25 acres in Narre Warren North. There will be many practical experiences during class time.

Practical Placement: A minimum of 80 hours of industry placement is required. This will be facilitated by ACAAS to ensure you gain real-world experience.

Some of the resources you’ll have access to are:

  • Stables and crush – cleaning
  • Small animal surgery – taking the patient’s vital signs
  • Small animal isolation – assist with infection control
  • Pharmacy – learn the common drug schedules
  • Veterinary Reception for sales of nutritional products
  • Dog grooming – hydrobathing
  • Boarding kennel and cattery – feeding, walking, cleaning etc.
  • Hydrotherapy facilities

This course equips you with the essential skills and knowledge to work safely and effectively when handling and caring for animals.

Once you’ve successfully completed this course you’ll be qualified to work as:

  • assistant grooming attendant

NO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The cost for the delivery of the course is $8990.00; monthly instalment is $999/month for 9 months and will be invoiced after the first month of training.

An initial non-refundable payment of $450 is paid to secure a student’s place following successful Application to enrol and acceptance of the offer of a place into the course. This payment is made up of the enrolment fee of $200 and $250 for materials supplied. Fees cover all teaching and learning materials, but do not cover costs incurred on work placement and other incidental costs.
